Maintenance Method For Stainless Steel Horizontal Multi-stage Centrifugal Pump

Dec 20, 2024

Stainless steel horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pumps encounter a series of problems during operation, such as insufficient flow rate, insufficient head, inability to pump water, component damage, motor burnout, and other malfunctions. How to deal with these problems when encountering them? The following methods are available for everyone to refer to carefully.
To solve these problems, it is necessary to first know the usage and maintenance methods of stainless steel horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pumps.

1. Check the direction of rotation of the motor. When viewed from the motor end towards the pump, the pump rotates counterclockwise. Remember, the test time should be short to avoid dry wear of the mechanical seal.
2. Open the exhaust valve to allow liquid to flow in, and then close the exhaust valve after the liquid fills the water pump.
3. Check if there are any abnormalities in various parts of the horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pump.
4. Lubricate the end face of the mechanical seal with lubricating liquid.
5. High temperature horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pumps should be preheated first, with a heating rate of 50 degree per hour.

1. Open the suction valve and close the discharge valve.
2. Start the motor and observe if the water pump is running correctly.
3. Adjust the opening of the outlet valve according to the required working conditions, ensuring that the motor operates within the rated current. Otherwise, it will cause the pump to operate at overload and cause the motor to burn out.

4. Check the leakage of the shaft seal. Normally, the mechanical seal leakage should be less than 3 drops per minute.
5. Check the motor, the temperature at the bearing should be less than 70 degree .

1. High temperature multi-stage pumps need to be cooled down first, with a cooling rate of less than 10 degree /minute, to reduce the temperature to below 80 degree .
2. Close the discharge valve.
3. Stop the motor.
4. Close the suction valve.
5. If the water pump is not used for a long time, the liquid in the pump should be drained completely.
